What to Expects

Learning Environment and Supervision

Student dental hygienists provide care under the direction of licensed dental hygienists and dentists. As a teaching clinic, appointments take longer than a private practice setting.

Appointment Length and Number of Visits

Plan for 1.5 - 3 hours per visit. The average student requires about four appointments to complete care. Completing all recommended visits is necessary for effective outcomes.

Individualized Care Plan

Each patient receives a comprehensive oral health assessment and a personalized care plan based on risk assessments and clinical findings.
Patients play a critical role in student education. Your participation supports student learning and community oral health. Thank you for partnering with our program.
